Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z TriFold – a Triple‑Fold Smartphone With a 10‑Inch Display

Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy Z TriFold, a device that redefines mobile form factors and showcases the company’s vision for productivity in the AI‑driven era. The new model folds twice to reveal a large 10‑inch display, transforming from a compact phone into a full-scale workspace.

A Triple-Fold Design Built for Flexibility

After more than a decade of developing foldable technologies, Samsung is taking the next major step with a device that blends smartphone portability with tablet‑level screen real estate. The Galaxy Z TriFold uses an inward‑folding structure that protects the main display, while its redesigned mechanism is engineered to withstand the demands of a dual‑hinge setup.

Two differently sized hinges with a dual‑rail system work together to ensure smooth movement and a minimal gap between the screen panels. The frame is reinforced with titanium elements and the latest generation of Armor Aluminum, while the back panel uses a ceramic‑glass fiber polymer for improved durability.

Slim Body, Flagship Performance

Despite its complex construction, the device remains impressively thin — just 3.9 mm when fully unfolded. Inside, Samsung has equipped it with a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, a 200 MP camera, and the largest battery ever used in a Samsung foldable: a three‑cell 5600 mAh system.

With 45W fast charging and optimized power distribution, the TriFold is designed to last through a full day of work, streaming, or creative tasks.

A Pocket‑Sized Workstation

The real power of the TriFold comes from its expansive 10‑inch display, which functions like three 6.5‑inch screens side by side. This allows users to run multiple apps at once, resize windows freely, and work comfortably with documents, drawings, or spreadsheets.

Samsung has optimized key system apps such as My Files and Samsung Health for the larger layout, while the Taskbar makes switching between recent apps quick and intuitive.

The device is also the first smartphone to offer standalone Samsung DeX, without requiring an external monitor. Users can create up to four separate workspaces, each running up to five apps simultaneously. When needed, the TriFold can still connect to an external display in Extended Mode, turning into a mobile desktop with full multitasking capabilities.

AI Features Designed for a Large Screen

Galaxy AI is deeply integrated throughout the interface. Tools like Generative Edit, Sketch to Image, and Photo Assist are easier to use on the wide display, allowing side‑by‑side comparisons and more precise editing.

Gemini Live brings multimodal AI that understands what users see, say, or show through the camera. It can offer interior design suggestions, analyze images, or summarize web content in real time.

A Cinematic Experience in a Foldable Format

The 10‑inch main display is ideal for movies, games, and YouTube — including the ability to watch videos while reading comments simultaneously. The crease is minimized, and brightness reaches up to 1600 nits for comfortable viewing. The outer Dynamic AMOLED 2X display offers up to 2600 nits and a 120 Hz refresh rate.

Availability

The Galaxy Z TriFold will launch first in South Korea on December 12, 2025, followed by China, Taiwan, Singapore, and the UAE. The U.S. release is planned for the first quarter of 2026. Buyers will receive six months of Google AI Pro and 2 TB of cloud storage.
