Govee’s New Smart Ceiling Lights Bring AI‑Generated Art to Your Home

Govee kicked off CES 2026 with another bold entry in the smart‑lighting world. The company introduced two new ceiling‑mounted lights: the Sky Ceiling Light and the Ceiling Light Ultra. The first is designed to mimic natural daylight and create the illusion of a real skylight. The second is aimed at hardcore Govee fans — a dense array of 616 LEDs allows it to project colorful images and animations directly onto your ceiling.

A Flood of LEDs and AI‑Powered Visuals

If you’ve followed Govee before, this level of visual flair won’t surprise you. The Ceiling Light Ultra is essentially a more detailed, ceiling‑mounted version of the company’s Net Lights, which display animations on windows or hedges. Here, everything is packed into a 21‑inch circular panel with far higher resolution.

While the Net Lights offer pixel density reminiscent of an old NES game, the Ultra model appears capable of smooth gradients and more intricate color detail. Govee says it will soon add new generative AI models to its app, letting users create custom imagery through prompts. Manual animation tools and GIF uploads will remain available as well.

When You Just Want a Normal Light

The Ceiling Light Ultra can also function as a standard light source, offering a typical color temperature range of 2700K to 6500K. The same applies to the Sky Ceiling Light, which shares the same 21‑inch size. Govee claims the Sky model feels like having a real skylight overhead — something we’ll be able to judge once review units become available.

First Impressions and Smart Home Support

At a pre‑CES preview event, the Ceiling Light Ultra looked exactly as expected: slightly fuzzy, but bright, vibrant, and detailed enough to recognize a low‑framerate animation of a spinning Earth. It’s eye‑catching, large, and undeniably fun. Pricing, however, remains a mystery — Govee isn’t ready to share numbers yet.

Both lights will support Matter, ensuring compatibility with major smart‑home ecosystems. As usual, you’ll still need the Govee app to access the more advanced visual effects. Release dates and pricing are yet to be announced.
